Single Open-Ended Snap-On Ring Assembly with Dual Purpose Collar and Micro-Sample Mounting Provision
This Style XRF Sample Cup extends its traditional use to applications involving micro-sample or internal standard mounting within the cell. Samples may be placed at the end of a rod or within a capillary tube (not supplied) cut to an appropriate length and inserted into a 4 mm diameter receptacle within the cell. Alternatively, small quantities of powdered samples or liquid droplets may be “sandwiched” between two pieces of a thin-film window by using the provided collar and Snap-On Ring. Pressure equalization is achieved through two thermoplastic seals; one is offset for micro-sample mounting applications. The collar is optionally used to retain the thin-film window in position prior to securing it with a Snap-On Ring to form taut leak-resistant seals and flat sample planes.

The 32 mm diameter XRF Sample Cup Snap-On Rings are also available with serrated cutting edges used to trim excess thin-film window materials. Use a Vent Hole Punch to facilitate establishing a pressure equalization passage and a Palm Held Fastener to affix thin-film windows.
